Skies of auburn memories
Skies of auburn memories
faded with clouds of bliss
Remind me of things that meant most to me
like laughing and pausing to kiss
And rays of shimmering sunlight
Gleam down on centuries past
I knew my future looked bright
And I knew that with you I would last
My dear I never stopped loving you
And I hope that you felt the same
Before I awoke to find you sleeping
A sleep from which you would not awake
I left tulips at your grave today
I know how you loved them so
And listened as the wind mimicked your voice like a melody
Before I needed to go.
Skies of auburn memories
Faded with clouds of bliss
Remind me of things that meant most to me
Like laughing and pausing to kiss
