The Girl In the Mirrior
I see you standing there
In the cold winter air
you keep your head facing down
I start to make a subtle frown
I reach out to touch the mirror
So I can see a little clearer
your eyes look at me
blue like the sea
hair of golden spun so fine
falls on her shoulders like a jungle vine
cheeks of rosy
and eyelash curls
button nose
and hair the swirls
she follows me in every way
but stops as I walk away
a laugh that pierces through my ear
softens but it’s always near

This piece represents how we see ourselves differently in a mirror than we do in real life, and how we see the hurt and pain in our own selves but fail to realize that its there, only walking away from our selves, which is hard to do literally.
