How can we say
How can we say that silence is golden,
When abused,tormented,silenced children
Are begging for cruel men to let them go
How can we say that a forceful police force is needed,
When thousands of innocents are harmed by them
All of whose voices won’t be heard
How can we say that less gun control is needed,
When millions are slaughtered by a single trigger
Most of them not living to see their 21st birthday
How can we say that the environment is fine as it is
When in China, Japan, India we have to wear masks
Just to go to school, to work, to anywhere
How can we say that our health is fine
When millions don’t have healthcare, homes, and food
All of whom will meet an early death
We state that these things are fine, and necessary,
But as we do so, we cover up the wounds that
Kill, abuse, silence others
