Hit the Right Point
Sweat trickling down my neck,
Strong grip on the racket end.
I go for a swing, and the birdie flies
And see a white feathered object flying high.
The opponent receives, but not too far.
It’s my smashing point and I hit hard.
But wait! It hits the floor!
So, I look at the scoreboard.
I didn’t get my point, but why?
Turns out the birdie went under the net, so I sigh.
I hit hard, but not at the right point.

I am currently on the Varsity Badminton team, and the poem is about the experiences I have while playing on the court. I also think that badminton can connect to life as well. In life, if you try hard in something, but not the right way, you won't really get anywhere. You to work hard, but also hit the right point at the same time in life. So, I wrote the poem not only about my experiences playing badminton, but also wrote it as a moral.
