I Am The Monster
After the night time comes.
The fears bring with them tears.
Sleep seems far as I drift from reality,
and into my unnatural serenity.
I think over the days’ events,
as if i could change the contents.
Then the monsters come from the corners,
and become my nights warners.
This monster of black shadows,
no face nor shape.
I feel it there,
creeping in the dark.
Others can’t feel it,
they don’t know it’s there.
It would scare them,
it scares me.
I squeeze my eyes shut,
don’t dare open them.
If i do,
I’ll never see to comforting light of the day.
That’s not true,
it’s not really there.
It’s just my mind playing tricks,
the monster is inside me.
The monster is me.
