Ode To Fruit (In Haiku)
Apples, Oranges
Some say all fruit is the same
They’re wrong, all of them
A crunchy apple
Juicy, bursting with sweetness
Truly life-changing
Plump grapes are the best;
Mushy ones ruin my whole day.
Small grenade of joy
Oranges are worth it
Pith and zesty peel conceal
The treat locked inside
Saccharine or tart
That is the mystery of
The blackberry’s taste
Able tomato
Always cooked into dishes
Never enjoyed raw
Honeydew melon.
Inedible cantaloupe
Is incomparable.
Ripened by the sun
Rouged flesh pockmarked by tan seeds
A strawberry grows
Mango’s tender flesh
Eaten on the porch in june
Delectably sweet.
A cornucopia
Of all different fruits is
My all-time life goal.
