A Minute Collection of Haikus
Once upon a time
We sang in a circle and
 Time flew into mist

 We are a world of
 Children covered in layers:
 Dusty energy

 Find us, keep us, for
 We are like a butterfly
 Whispering freedom

 Anything you want
Take, take away from the slopes
 That menace madness

 Eyes sharp as the wind
 Mouth quick as a basilisk
 He roars like thunder

 Eat, drink, sleep, dream, but
Don’t forget to brush your teeth
 The sun is rising

 “What you are?” I ask.
“What you will be,” you whisper.
 “Come, join me this time.”

 We are gone with you.
 Obviously, we aren’t home.
 Why’d you ring the bell?

 Bright and bubbly nets
 Layer the cloudy rainbows
 Sparkles of rain fly

 Much hectic cramming
 For today’s spectacular
 Denial is gone

 Oh my dear baby
Life will come to you in steps
 You can feel freedom
 On the small tips of
 Your itty-bitty fingers
 Don’t throw it away
