Breathing the night air

The moon sways high in the sky

Humming lullabies

The author's comments:

Besides the fact that I love the night, I remember hearing a song my dad did a cover of called, "I'm so Lonesome I Could Cry." There is a line in the song that goes, "the moon just went behind the clouds, to hide its face and cry." I thought it was beautiful, and decided to write a haiku about the moon watching over us.
