Darkness:
All succumb to the blackened trees
As fleeting hope lacks to be
An eerie being in the air
Burdens the soul with a single stare

Misty silence fills the sky
As a thousands echoes of a single cry
A tremor induced by the lingering mist
Steadily unwinds the minds abyss

The taste of bland consuming hell
Meets the stinging spike of an empty smell
And just as all is said and done
To a deeper darkness the night succumbs

Light:
Slicing through a visage of tyrants hide
The frost expires by the flames first sight
To perish this full fleshed agony
A path of hope through the bark of trees

Color spreads with each stroke of growth
But with beauty comes a violent truth
A law all beings cannot linger from
That the light here now, will soon be gone

Yet to dwindle alone on the fate to come
Would burden the soul as the night had done
Though light and darkness can harvest the same
With a single ray the world can change
