walk the line
Go through the motions,
And pretend your ok,
Don’t let anyone see you cry,
Don’t let anyone see you pray.
Hope for the best,
But expect the worst,
Hold on tight for the ride,
And try not to burst.
Don’t show them any emotion,
Just incase they think your weak,
They watch you with piercing eyes,
Hoping you’ll give them what they seek.
Don’t let anyone tell you,
That your going to be fine,
Because only you know,
What it feels like to walk this line.
Pretend it doesn’t hurt,
Pretend your heart isn’t beaten black and blue,
Because if you tell yourself something long enough,
Eventually, it’ll come true.
Pretend her fakeness doesn’t bother you,
And neither does this pain,
When all you really want is your best friend back,
All you want is a real girl back again.
Don’t break down,
Cause then the pain is really real,
But if you just put it in the back of your mind,
Then you don’t have to deal.
Don’t let the first tear fall,
Or else they might not stop coming,
Then the tear fall so hard you can’t see,
And your first reaction is to start running.
And when you can’t see,
Any path could be the right one,
Even the ones with danger written all over them,
The one’s that usually tell you to run.
Then you go down the wrong path,
And your life’s messed up from the start,
All because of one boy,
One boy that broke your heart.
You learned a powerful lesson,
Boy’s are stupid and mean,
They’re just another one of the worlds dangers,
Only this danger goes unseen.
So don’t let anyone tell you,
That your going to be fine,
Because even though your heart’s broken beyond repair,
Only you can walk that line.
