You say you love me
I love you too
You say forever and always
I say forever is too long
You want to be with me
I want to be with you too
You want to date me
I say lets have fun first
I walk away not looking back
You yell “we are over”
I say “we never started”
A tear roll down your cheek
You yell for me to stop and wait
I look and turn
Why don’t you want to stay she asked
I don’t want to be committed I said
I’m a free man
I need to have my space
I may love you
But forever is too long
