Take Me Away
When I go to bed, I’m alone,
Only me, on my own, cold as stone.
When I fall asleep, I’m with you
These sweet dreams, they must come true.
When I wake up, you’re gone,
You’re sweet face, the last I look upon
I can only hope you love me
As much as I want you to see
That I love you, and always will
Even when the earth dies and time stands still.
Come and take me away,
So I can be close and hear you say
“I love you honey” like last summer.
Those words, the sweetest nectar,
My ears could ever hope to swallow,
Letting me know your heart wasn’t mine to borrow,
But to keep and hold with me forever.
I’ll keep it close to mine, warm and tender.
Come take me away so that when
I go to bed, I won’t be alone again.
