Happy Birthday
Another year here
Another year gone
Another year that I have to sing this stupid song
Another year older
Another year colder
Another year that causes more sag on my shoulder
Blow out the candle, make yourself happy
When you know on the inside, everything’s crappy
But you pretend for a day that everything’s fine
And you try to drown all of the signs
In bottles of wine
And it seems all the stars are aligned
As you start to cry
And feed the grapevine
To make tear flavored moonshine
Until it’s gone and you’re alone
With only your thoughts
and the creak of your bones
So you pick up the phone
And create a clone
As you sit on your social throne
Cloaked in Lie scented cologne
And you know your gonna explode
So you take the remote
And relinquish control
Over your real mind and mental home
As you sit all alone
Fake happiness in the light, while sadness hides in the shadows
Blow out the candle, make yourself happy
When you know on the inside, everything’s crappy
But you pretend for a day that everything’s fine
And you try to drown all of the signs
In bottles of wine
And it seems all the stars are aligned
As you start to cry
And feed the grapevine
To make tear flavored moonshine
The light from the candles, it disappeared
The noise from everyone as they cheered
It’s all gone, the smokes cleared,
But you know someone else has appeared
With cold dead eyes and a wicked sneer
A coat that’s charred, and a blackened sword
And you know you should be scared,
you know you should be afraid
But somehow you can't bring yourself to even move a muscle
He comes closer, that gleaming blade outstretched
You’re mind is screaming for you to move, but you can’t make yourself
And in an instant it’s all gone, in a great cascade
This great charade that you’ve created it's all gone down in flames
And right before you leave, all you write is goodbye
But you remember how you would
Blow out the candle and make yourself happy
When you know on the inside, everything’s crappy
But you pretend for a day that everything’s fine
And you try to drown all of the signs
In bottles of wine
And it seems all the stars are aligned
As you start to cry
And feed the grapevine
To make tear flavored moonshine
Goodbye, whispers the mockingbird, singing to his friends
Goodbye, calls the house as one final send
A leap of faith, a final snap, the climax ends
And it's all gone, sealed with a rope of broken promises

I wrote this over of the course of a hour, but ended up not liking the end and rewrote a good chunk of it. It's meant to be read as a rap, and I've found that reading it aloud lets the reader naturally let the words flow.
