Too much isn't enough.

There was a time when I had lost myself
There was a time when I loathed your help
There was a time when I couldn't understand
There was a time when I was vulnerable

Today every string which holds my marionette of a body
Is on the verge of being cut
Or hanging downwards
Loose

When you tried to support my choices
When they united themselves against me
When I had to rebel to be heard
Was a time too harsh for me to grasp your help

Today every string which holds my marionette of a body
Is on the verge of being torn
Or hanging unfastened
Loose

Now your eyes cut sharp through my skin
Now all they do is sigh in despair at my fate
Now I realize I couldn't change what had to be kept
Now I am still as susceptible

Today every string which holds my marionette of a body
Is on the verge of being slashed
Or hanging exposed
Loose
