Little birdie outside my window,
Can you help me sing just like you.
With your melody designed,
to make even an anaconda cry
tears of sorrow and joy.
Teach me how to sing
oh tiny little birdie
I need to tell you something
before you fly away.

Hum away,
your little tune to keep the darkness away,
keep demons at bay with your music
sent straight from the heavens.
A beckoning call to the happiness
in us all.
Teach me to sing we can make a harmony.
Sweet little birdie outside my window
teach me before you fly above the trees

sounds from the age of yesterday.
when my best friend and I
would run throughout the pasteur
of her back yard.
We didn’t go very far but to us
it felt like the edge of the universe.
Are you calling out to me?
I look at you and I see my soul flying

Hum away,
your little tune to keep the darkness away,
keep demons at bay with your music
sent straight from the heavens.
A beckoning call to the happiness
in us all.
Teach me to sing we can make a harmony.
Sweet little birdie outside my window
teach me before you fly above the trees

little girl little girl
run around with the cape on your back.
You’re super girl for now.
Buy bubble gum ice cream
and feel it melt between your fingers.
Dance down the street to the backstreet boys,
Two square, four square, wall ball, it’s all there for now
hurry before time runs out.
Sing with the birds before it’s too late

Hum away,
oh hum away for me.
A creature of majesty,
most musical wings ever discovered.
Little girl come out from under the covers.
Sing sweetly with a humming bird
before your soul disappears.
Little birdie teach me to sing with you
in harmony

hum away….
hum with me.
hum away….
I want to learn your melody.
hum away….
take me with you when you leave,
hum away….
hum away with me.
hum away… little birdie, hum away.
