Erase my eyes
Make me blind
Let me be free
Without sight
Eternal sleep
From constant insomnia
From the waking world

Erase my eyes
No need to see
Take away all the vision
Allow my only insights
To be dreams
Rid me of every
Celestial object
Living organism
Deathly human invention

The author's comments:
I was sitting in English class and my friend, Peter did something he does every class. The teacher writes what we're going to do in class on the board. Whenever Peter comes in, he erases all the i's included on the board. The teacher was sitting near me and said something about how Peter always erases the i's and the title of the piece just came to me. So in the middle of class, I started writing a poem called 'Erase My Eyes'. It's like a pun for Peter, because I know he loves those. He is the 'id' boy in English class.
