Everyone's crazy. You know why? We all want to be normal. Well, we cant define normal, and, the people you can point at and say, well isn't he/she normal are rare. Doesnt that kind of defeat the pupose of normal? -My Friend

Sing me a song of sorrow
Sing me a song of strife
Because all I'll know tomorrow is the life you left behind.

I sit at my window-
Staring at the sky.
Pretending I don't know
The reasons you left us behind.
I close my eyes and tell myself,
That the tears running down my face
Are tears of grief and sorrow
For only just your fate.

So,
Sing me a song of sorrow
Sing me a song of strife
Because all I'll know tomorrow
Is the life you left behind.

A pencil in hand
I'm writing the tale of our land.
Telling your story,
From beginning to the very end!
There are tears in the paper
And smears in the ink,
'Cause i have to tell myself,
I don't understand how you think.

So sing me me song of sorrow,
sing me a song of strife
Because all I'll know tomorrow is the life you left behind.

I wander aimlessly, a step behind the rest.
Staring blankly,
my heart's been laid to rest.
But the fire in thier eyes,
The passion they find in thier daily lives
Can never be denied,
It won't lay down and die.

So,
Sing me a song of sorrow,
Sing me a song of strife,
'Cause all I'll know tommorow,
Is the life you left behind.

So, sing me a song of laughter
Sing me a song of joy
Because all I'll know tomorrow,
is that I won't be left behind.

The author's comments:
I wrote this for a friend who told me he wanted to commit suicide. I only got to see him once a year, and for a very long time i never knew if he had survived or not. That's when this started. It morphed and became more and more personel over time- changing into more of a song of determination, a song of longing, a song of misery, and a song of continued hope. I hope that anyone who reads this can understand the hope hidden here.

what is said flies,
what is written never dies.

i think this song really is good it got my attention. i wished i could write like this. i've seen many songs of sorrow and grief but nothing compare to this. it makes me see that comitting suicide will leave a mark in the hearts of my friends.

This is beautiful- so much emotion packed into one song. I wish I had this to show my friend when I was talking him out of suicide, I think he would've liked this. The twist at the end wrapped it up very nicely. Good job!

Life is not about waiting for the storm to pass, but learning to dance in the rain.

This is so good! i love the emotion that you put into the poem and the fact that you dealt with your emotions by using them to create something as beautiful as this! Wonderful job.

this is amazing, i have a friend in a similar position and tears were running down my face when i was reading it, its written so well, i think this is my favourite piece of yours. Its so emotional and powerful, the only thing i would say is the exclaimation mark in ''From beginning to the very end!'' it shifted the mood a bit when it would've been better left out but besides from that amazing poem :)

Beautiful...just beautiful.  You put so much emotion into it; you're an excellent lyric writer. :)

Very nice flow and subject... I liked it. It didn't feel very hopeful, but there was a little bit of almost what I'd call determination. The emotion was obvious but not overbearing. Good job!
