Imagine
I could just imagine him and me,
Sitting by the backyard tree,
Waiting for the sun to set.
But his eyes and mine have never met.
And it’ll never be…
Him and me.
Looking through a looking glass,
I can see all of the dreams that’ve passed.
’Cause I could just imagine him and me…
The world’s so sweet, the day’s so long.
When he smiles at me, I hear our song…
Oh, I could just imagine him and me,
Sitting by the backyard tree…
Waiting for the phone to ring,
Sitting on that old blue swing…
I could just imagine him and me,
Sitting by the backyard tree…
He smiles that golden smile
And I ask him to stay a while.
Oh, that golden smile with those pearly white teeth,
It’s him I’ll always want to meet.
But sadly that ain’t gonna happen,
It’s only those dreams that’ll be lasting.
The dreams of him and me over by the backyard tree.
