I didn't see you
cracking the shutters, chasing the start.
I didn't see you
awake for reality, embittering your heart.
I just shut my eyes, you were
baring doors, letting dreams in.
I just turned my back, you were
both counting gold and crying.
But I did see you, in the midst of wonders,
resting your head, chasing butterflies.
And I did see you
playing with dolls, singing lullabies.
