Life...
Life isn’t about who you knew
How well you did in school
 What you went through
 No matter how cruel
It’s about who it made you into

 What you did for others
 That’s what makes you true
What you did with your druthers
What you changed to make right
And if you did something immoral, you felt contrite

It’s about who you made yourself
 And for whom you’re known
Not as a mean, old crone
 But as a personable pert
 That you were fair
And didn’t treat people like dirt

 That you were your best
 Even when you were stressed
It doesn’t mean you have to be perfect
 It’s exactly the opposite
 It’s that you were yourself
 And no one else

 That’s what life’s all about
 To show your true colors
 And they never fade out
They stay in hearts forever and ever
When do the colors disappear…. never
