Stitches

You tried to put a band aid on something that needed stitches
My mind isn’t a toy, it’s not something you play with
And if you step on my hands and my feet
I won’t even smell defeat
No way are you gonna put me in another trance
No way will you ever get a second chance

You showed me for years that you didn’t care
You showed everyone around you that you didn’t care
So after years of waiting for something to change
You expect me to forget and just turn the page?

If something is damaged beyond repair
If you filled my heart with ounces of despair
Then you don’t try to fix it, patch it up too late
This far into the game, you’ll at least need duct tape
But to fill up the big leaks in someone’s soul
You need a needle to stitch up the hole

For years I tried to get you to see me
Forever I spent trying, aiming
Now after all this wasted time, I quit
Maybe my leaving will leave your world lit
Maybe now, while you're alone, you’ll get a clue
The world isn’t always just about you!
If this is the only way to make you see
Then, my god, let it be!
I would thank you for your time but you don’t deserve
In life and love, there’s no grading curve

If something is damaged beyond repair
If you filled my heart with ounces of despair
Then you don’t try to fix it, patch it up too late
This far into the game, you’ll at least need duct tape
But to fill up the big leaks in someone’s soul
You need a needle to stitch up the hole

one good thing about music is, when it hits you, you feel no pain.

I have no words that will come out of my mouth about this poem except that it was truely one in a million...
