All an Old Man Needs
I saw a man at the door (that) I just couldn't ignore
A man less fortunate than I but he kindly gave up his time to hold the door
I said to the man at the door, "why thank you kind sir, someday I'll return the favor." Smiling as I strolled down the street to see a girl under an old oak tree
A Tip of the hat and a wink in the eye as I pass by
After all, a young woman's blush is all an old man needs
A wave to a neighbor, a pat for his hound Contagious smiles across the town.
A rhythm of feet, on a school playground Contagious smiles over a child's gown Come home to a princess on a swing,
a delight always found
Contagious smiles upon this old man's crown.
