Dream as if you'll live forever, live as if you'll die tomorrow.

verse one;
i have never seen such a pathetic sight,
you crawling in at dawn with your clothes a mess.
you looked drunk out of your mind,
with someone else's vomit in your hair.
it didn't help that you were slurring your words,
and your eyes were bloodshot with oblivion.

i wanted to help and make you feel happier,
but nothing worked as you fell.
fell, fell, fell,
deeper into the abyss of your depression.
you would respond to nothing,
left your family sobbing.
wouldn't offer a smile, just one little smile,
no matter what we tried...

chorus;
i watched you cry your tears,
let you be a victim of your own fear.
i watched you try to stand up,
but failed, couldn't even pretend.
your tears ran tracks down your cheeks,
your lips mumbled words i couldn't hear.
a little part of me thought that you deserved it,
but then i realized no one deserved to feel like me.

verse two;
you came to me with all your problems,
put on a facade for her when she came.
never told her anything about you,
yet loved her with all your heart.
well guess what?
she just broke your heart!

and you came running back to me,
well i forgave you like always.
but i'm getting kind of tired of being your second choice,
i'd never felt so unloved in my whole thirteen years.
i tried to help you heal,
but how could i,
when i was still broken myself…

chorus;
i watched you cry your tears,
let you be a victim of your own fear.
i watched you try to stand up,
but failed, couldn't even pretend.
your tears ran tracks down your cheeks,
your lips mumbled words i couldn't hear.
a little part of me thought that you deserved it,
but then i realized no one deserved to feel like me.

bridge;
oh, oh, oh,
do you feel it now?
the pain i've always felt.
you try to fix yourself,
but it won't work.
the pain's there to stay,
you have no idea how it feels yet.
to be unloved, nobody care,
you'll always be her second choice,
just like i am yours.

chorus;
i watched you cry your tears,
let you be a victim of your own fear.
i watched you try to stand up,
but failed, couldn't even pretend.
your tears ran tracks down your cheeks,
your lips mumbled words i couldn't hear.
a little part of me thought that you deserved it,
but then i realized no one deserved to feel like me.

The author's comments:
This song was written throughout the course of many days; I just added to it whenever I was feeling down or lonely. It describes the relationship between a guy and a girl, and how the girl was broken, but still tried to help the guy fix himself. It is an emotional and somewhat depressing song.
