Songbird
when i was younger someone told me
when your love has gone away
send them a sweet songbird
and they'll comeback one day
so i whispered my hearts desires
in a choral harmony
in hopes that it would reach you
and bring you back to me
now listen to my songbird,
softly singing melodies
confessing how much i love you
and how much you mean to me
hear the words i cannot tell you
hear the things i cannot say
hear my songbird's melody
promise you'll come back one day
with every sun that rises
on every shooting star
listen to my hearts content
and know I'm never far
When the day is over
when all is said and done
know that my heart is forever yours
that you are my only one
now listen to my songbird,
softly singing melodies
confessing how much i love you
and how much you mean to me
hear the words i cannot tell you
hear the things i cannot say
hear my songbird's melody
promise you'll come back one day
i know that you're not here right now
but i keep holding on somehow
to the thought of you right here with me
its where you should always be
its been too long since you've gone away
i wish there was someway to ask you to stay
no one else in this world will do
id wait forever and a day just to be with you
now listen to my songbird,
softly singing melodies
confessing how much i love you
and how much you mean to me
hear the words i cannot tell you
hear the things i cannot say
hear my songbird's melody
promise you'll come back one day
