My Blue Friend and I
My blue friend and I
 We’re the bee’s knees
 We are a pair

 He’s always around
 So I am too
 So we get by

 My blue friend and I
 We’re some kool kats
 I can’t deny that

 The thing is, he’s blue
 And what can I do
 When I love him, too?

 When you’ve got someone
 You hold their hand
 You never let them go

 They call you up
 You talk for hours
You make sure they won’t go

 They send you flowers
 You talk for hours
 They promise not to go

 And when they do leave
 You think and you grieve
 But you lock it away
 And you turn it around

And you find a new shade of blue

You can’t help what you feel
 It’s fake or it’s real
 And you can’t just go
 Steal healing hearts

And if they don’t love you
 There’s nothing you can do
It’s safer to let go and let be

There are secrets we don’t share
 And sometimes it’s unfair
But that’s how it goes, you see

 I and my blue friend
 We’ve got to end
 We have to part

Still, there might come a day. . .

For my blue friend and I
For my blue friend and I
For my best love and I
