If you lived
In my life
You would know
All the pain

If you knew
All the pain
You would cry
Every single night

If you cried
Every single night
You wouldn’t know
Who to blame

If you didn’t know
Who to blame
You would assume
It’s all your fault

If you assumed
It was all your fault
You would hate

If you hated
You wouldn’t know
What to do

If you didn’t know
What to do
You would take your life
Like thousands of others do

If you took your life
Like thousands of others do
You would never know
Just what you’re worth

But you don’t need
To live in my life
To understand
The pain you cause

I want to love this, but there's just one little thing in my way! When I began to read this poem, I felt like you were whining and I immediately predicted what the rest of the poem would be like – self-indulgent, teenage angst-y, the usual. Thankfully, you pleasantly surprised me by your interesting theme where your feelings progressed and deepened and burrowed and dove into me and it actually got personal, but then I was kind of disappointed by your ending. “But you don't need To live in my life To understand The pain you cause.” I didn't understand that. I didn't know how we went from this revelation like, you're misunderstood and even I misunderstood you and took you for granted at first, but then you impressed me, and then we got to the last few lines and I was like, “what?” I don't know. I like it, I do! I'm just sort of confused. Anyway, this was really creative and different! Definitely 4/5! Good job!
