Nothing to Fear

CHORUS
there's nothing to fear
but fear itself
or so the stories say
most days
I can’t accept that
I have trouble, believing
that anger isn’t worth it
that love isn’t scary
or people aren’t bad
(chorus)
despite all
the pretty words
surrounding me
the sky seems ever sunny
and each pretty ray
burns
(chorus)
take pity on me
a non believer
cut me some slack and let me out
let me say
my piece
today
fearing fear
and that which brings it
is a pointless exercise
just face, the light
it’s as simple as that
