Ophelia MAG
You walk along the pavement
Collecting your pretty flowers
Handing out the petals
To strange men you find along the way
Your eyes are dull
And your hands are trembling
Oh, the moon is full
Lift your head and see
What it is you've got
There's no one come to save you this time
Step out of the river
Turn your head from the light
Quicken your pace into the dark
It is your eyes that deceive you
To the last beat of your little heart
Cold and alone you climb away
Your bruises are gone
Your scars faded
You whisper to your lover,
“I'm not here to stay”
You were one of those girls
With nowhere to go but up
Look at yourself now
Your feet kept moving
But your mind screamed “Enough”
There's no one come to save you this time
Step out of the river
Turn your head from the light
Quicken your pace into the dark
It is your eyes that deceive you
To the very last beat of your little heart
Now your eyes are closed
And your skin is white
You must have known, Ophelia,
What it is you've got
