The Flag is Still Raised
There are soldiers everyday, who die in brutal ways.
So many people cry at their futile graves,
But the war continues. No, it never ends,
But we never give up. We will someday amend.
Someday the last gun will c***. The last body will drop.
Until then, the war continues, with no sign of a stop.
And the flag is still raised.
It still sways every day,
As a reminder that this nation
Is the home of the brave.
When another soldier dies, another battle is born.
Another nation crumbles, a new army forms,
Another day another death, more crime with no arrest
All for money and power, and the need to be the best.
And the flag is still raised.
It still sways every day,
As a reminder that this nation
Is the home of the brave.
It symbolizes all those who have died for our freedom
They've stopped breathin', and their family is grievin'
But the flag is immortal, and it leads us through a portal
That goes back in time and reminds you every war’ll
End in grief and sorrow, but wars will always happen
The shootin’ and the stabbin’, through it all, the flag’s still flappin’
Telling history of men who were so courageous;
The history that made us the home of the brave and
The free, so show respect for those who fight for the flag.
We can’t resurrect those who died for the flag,
But their memory lives on just like that old flag,
But, still, the war never ends, and that’s the plight of the flag.
And the flag is still raised.
It still sways every day.
As a reminder that this nation
Is the home of the brave.
