Hello, my dearest loving dad
I thought of you today
I want to reassure you that I will be okay
I hope you're smiling in heaven
As I get through each day
Your death may have hurt me
But I promise I'll be alright
I wish I could have told you
That I have always loved you
Even with all the mistakes you made
I forgive you, it's okay

I guess it's too late
To see me graduate
I wish you lived to give me away
On my special wedding day
I wish I could change your fate
And make your death 30 years late
Remember when you took me
To Jurassic Park 3
My mom wasn't happy
But who could blame her? I was only 7
When I was just a baby
You would quietly hold me
And look at every feature
On my tiny little face
I remember you and I went on a magic carpet ride
Just so you know
I still want that home video!

CHORUS:

My dearest loving dad
I thought of you today
I want to reassure you, that I will be okay
I hope you're smiling in heaven
As I get through each day
Your death may have hurt me
But I promise I'll be alright
Even with all the mistakes you made
I forgive you, it's ok

I love you so much dad
More than you'll know
I wish I could have told you so
I wish we never parted
When you died I was broken hearted
I will try to move on
Despite that you're gone
Goodbye my dearest loving father
I will keep you alive in my heart
So that we will never be apart

I also have another "Loving someone is like hugging a cactus. The harder you hold the more it hurts"

That was so sad, but so beautiful! Very well written and I love the emotion you put into it. It was raw, and just so beautiful! Keep writing because you wrote that very well. I loved it, and enjoyed it.
