Searching
I saw you in the city last night,
But then I woke up and realized it was a dream.
I went to a shrink to clean my mind,
And she vanished into the world.
I remember her but I don’t think she knows me,
And I went out searching.
How could she go away just like that?
Is she taken or am I not too late?
My mind still remembers her,
And she is out somewhere in the world.
I know her from heart but does she know me?
So I keep on searching.
I look around,
Sometimes I get sad.
I want it but I can’t have it.
I look around,
Sometimes I worry.
Is she there or is she gone?
I fight it and deny it,
But she’s on my mind.
I fight it and cry about it,
I need her so bad but she’s not there!
When darkness fills my void,
And if her memory serves her right.
She says “yes” and we walk away,
All tension goes and I’m done searching.
