Society
You are what society dictates,
You must be what's expected.
You're made to think all the same,
Or you must be perfected.
What happened to the girl who played in the dirt,
Who fought with her fists and didn't mind to get hurt.
What happened to the girl who cared less about guys and less about grades,
Who didn't have friends cause she lived every day.
You follow all of these rules,
That you don't understand,
Because you're just at the mercy,
Of an upper class hand.
What happened to the boy who couldn't play ball,
Who said what he thought without being frightened at all.
What happened to the boy who cared less about girls and less about grades,
Who didn't have any friends cause he lived for today.
You let the media tell you what's right and what's wrong,
Who you are and what you should be.
You've given up your independent thinking,
Because you only know what you've seen.
