I was inspired by a song title only- Colorful x Melody. I've actually never heard it before. I should go do that. 

 

It seems my song has nothing to do with it. That's nice.

Thank you very much, WindRunner, although I think the rhythm might have been not as good in the verses as in the chorus, so I'll be working on that.

That might be due to the word 'boyfriend'. I actually wanted to use the term 'somethingfriend' because it's more... well, it means 'I'm of any possible gender and have a slightly romantic relationship with you' or something. The song is, however, gender-neutral, though I wrote it for my friend and I to sing. I was really worrying about the cliche parts... This is a very J-Pop style song, so I was afraid someone would come along and not like it because so much has been done that relates to this already. The title is from Colorful x Melody. Those words were sort of bouncing around in my head and then I accidentally hit a few notes on the piano and I made a song. The inspiration for the lyrics was really only the title (Colorful x Melody). I had heard the song long, long ago, due to its popularity and the sheer amount of people who were covering it and making videos for it, etc. I watched the original and was disappointed because they didn't really use the words 'Colorful Melody' more than once, and I didn't like the general song. So I completely forgot about it and went back to my business, only to rewrite it (not at all to the same tune, so I would recommend not trying that) now. Then, of course, I went to listen to the original track just to make sure it wasn't the same, but yes. I'm sorry to hit you over the head with words ;-; What I meant was "thank you so much for commenting, please have a nice day."

I don't know about Katy Perry (but if she sang it, not gonna lie, would be a great track, though I see more of a guy singing it). It's intensely emotional without being cliche-y, melodrama-ish. I love the title. Your chorus, I think, is spot on. Some of the stanzas could use a little more substance, but definitely not necessary. Wonderful song. Now, I'm curious about your inspiration for it.
