Cinderella Shoes
  I wonder what it's like
  To have a perfect family
  To come home and find
  Mom and dad not yelling
Tell me what can you say
  To ease the pain
  Of your mom saying
  She's ready to walk away
No I guess you never really knew that
Never knew how hard it really is
To have to build your hope
  On ashes
If you took a walk in my shoes
You'd trip on the very first step
And you say it'll be okay
But you don't live in my head
  I've got so much pride
  And so much self-hate
  Fighting inside my brain
And I know you'd fall to the ground
If my life and yours got switched around
I wonder what it's like to
  Have a conversation
  'Cause I can't have one
  Without someone losing patience
Tell me what do you do
While you wait for more abuse
  And how can you say
  It's no excuse
No I guess you never really knew that
Never knew how hard it really is
To have to build your hope
  On ashes
If you took a walk in my shoes
You'd trip on the very first step
And you say it'll be okay
But you don't live in my head
  I've got so much pride
  And so much self-hate
  Fighting inside my brain
And I know you'd fall to the ground
If my life and yours got switched around
  You're out there preaching humility
  But you walk in pride
  You profess innocence
  But you're speaking lies
You say that I need to love more
  But you're not being kind
Take a walk in my shoes
  You'll trip and fall behind
If you took a walk in my shoes
You'd trip on the very first step
And you say it'll be okay
But you don't live in my head
  I've got so much pride
  And so much self-hate
  Fighting inside my brain
And I know you'd fall to the ground
If my life and yours got switched around
You say don't burden anyone else
But I can't handle the weight by myself
I know I have my issues
But you can't even stand in my shoes
