Thank You Mother
Thank you mother for laboring to bring me to this earth,
Mother, thank you for giving birth,
Teaching me how to speak my first words,
Supporting me as I take my first steps,
Giving me food and a roof over my head,
Shoes on my feet and clothes on my body,
Your loving embrace warms me even in the coldest of times,
Your gentle yet firm advice keeps me alive,
I love you mother, though I under appreciate you so,
Your perseverance through our brawls,
Distinguishing for me, friend and foe,
Teaching me lots,
In school and in life,
Like how to find the sum of 2x (times) 3y+ 5 squared,
Or just teaching me to braid my hair,
Teaching my softball
Or just making my bed,
Letting me sleep with you when bad dreams occur,
Telling me how to babysit my sister,
And how to take care of her,
I wish I could express how much you mean to me,
Thank you mother for being there,
Now, I know your running out of time,
And I'm running out of rhyme,
But this is a poem of thanks,
And it'll go on till the end of time.
