Beginnings

When you waked in the room,
You immediately caught my eye.
I couldn't help but stare,
I'm not going to lie.

There was an instant attraction,
That I'd never felt before.
Every time you looked at me,
I always craved for more.

When we talked, my words would jumble,
I couldn't find the right thing to say.
My voice would quiver, my knees would shake,
You simply took my breath away.

Every time you were around,
I would trip over my own two feet.
Each time your hand held mine,
My heart would skip a beat.

Now that we're together,
Thoughts of you fill my day.
Every time you kiss me,
My worries drift away.

I look forward to our future,
Making new memories as we go.
Sharing all the simple pleasures,
Together as we grow.

I wrote this poem for my boyfriend as one of his Sweetest Day gifts. I hope you enjoy it as much as he did!
