A Longing
Night falls and in rest I see gentle serenity
Your celestial songs pacify my being
And your wintry arms carry me ‘till infinity
Hours are short, time is always fleeing
Long gone, you’re sleeping far from here
From dawn to sunset your heartbeat I long
Skin, warm, the morning’s kiss, if it were near
In nebulous thoughts, there’s no blissful song
Blessed with tranquility is what I had
A passive breeze that put chaos at rest
Night falls and sleep drives me mad
To want what I don’t have is what I most detest
When I yearn to see that perfect painting
That portrayed your perfection, it’s constraining
