What are distinctive impacts you should share with the audience about your product during production? Listing down your product features and benefits, know how to Identify the specific pain points your prospects have.
Why did its production occur where it did during each phase of production? How did it affect the people and environment in this location? There are many social and environmental impacts of extracting diamonds and furthermore there are impacts at each stage of the diamond commodity chain. Diamonds have a strong cultural and social meaning.
To what extent is the production of the product you researched sustainable? Diamond mining isn't considered sustainable. There's a limited amount of this material on the Earth. Mining at current rates will one day deplete this resource.
Do you think your product created more positive or negative impacts during its production? Why? While diamonds are admired and loved by many there are a few bad social impacts such as poor working conditions, child labor, environmental impacts. While there are 6 steps in the diamond pipeline, the majority of these social and environmental impacts come during the mining of the diamonds.
Based on your research and that of your peers, what do you think is the biggest negative impact from global production? The biggest positive impact? Has many detrimental impacts on the environment including soil erosion, deforestation, and ecosystem destruction. A major political effect of the diamond commodity chain, specifically at the mining level is blood diamonds. Diamond companies benefit from employing local people; they have essential traditional knowledge of the land. In return, the mines support local businesses and boost local economies.
What do you think sustainable production should look like in the next decade? Gender Equality. Clean Water and Sanitation. Affordable and Clean Energy. Decent Work and Economic Growth.
What strategy would you recommend to help make production more sustainable in the future? Efficient use of energy and resources, Waste avoidance and creation of material cycles & recycling. Limit your food waste. Transporting and storing food for consumption uses a great deal of energy.
Do you think that achieving the UN’s goal of sustainable consumption and production is feasible? Why or why not, based on research and classroom discussions? Achieving sustainable consumption and production patterns secures efficiency and productivity gains, ensuring that human activities remain within the carrying capacity of the planet, while respecting the rights of future generations.
