Miley Cyrus Bangerz Tour Extended Learning Opportunity

A night like no other I have ever experienced in the eighteen years I’ve been on planet earth, the Miley Cyrus Bangerz tour 2014 changed my life. The main act Miley Cyrus herself who has recently let her edgy side out for her fans who have known her teen pop idol past from the Disney Channel Show Hannah Montana. How she became famous was through her acting but she played a pop singer and released albums as the character which really sky rocketed her career because of not only the show’s success but the amazing reaction to her songs as Hannah Montana. She left the show at age 18, the fourth and final season of the show. After leaving that she finally got to make her own sound and be the artist she wanted to be. Therefore, the album “Bangerz” was born.

It was February 20, 2014. My cousins, Nicole and Natalie had gotten us ticket to see the Miley Cyrus concert because we were all three major die-hard fans. We arrived at the Honda center in Anaheim and outside of course were the Westboro Baptist church picketers. All the Miley fans got such a kick out of flipping them off and taking pictures next to their signs saying “All have sinned”. After going through the TSA style security check we finally entered the center. There were so many bear leotards mocking her Robin Thicke VMA performance and almost nude outfits on people that should not be caught dead in those clothes in public. But it was a Miley concert, so peculiar was encouraged. We got to seats right on the floor probably about precisely three yards from the stage. So excited, we danced around to the opening acts Sky Ferria and Icona Pop. Then the lights when down and a roar went up, Miley was ready to start.

Mileys stage presence was just entirely phenomenal it blew my mind, the lights, the controversial costumes, and the props, just everything. She played seventeen songs on that stage not including three she did on an off side stage set up where she did acoustic covers of classic songs such as “Hey Ya!” by OutKast. Miley has been a performer since the womb practically. How to please the crowd was not even slightly a challenge for her, she knew exactly what we all wanted to see. The backup dancers seemed like they were especially picked for her they worked so well with her and made her look amazing. The display overall made you feel like life was a trip. Unlike other artists I felt like her and I were connecting as cheesy as that honestly sounds.

My favorite parts from the concert would have to be her beginning and ending acts considering they were the most memorable parts. For the opening the beginning instrumental of the song “SMS:Bangerz” played while a pack of animal type mascot creatures ran around the stage doing wild choreographed flash mods while a massive Miley head raised from behind them to the middle of the screen. When it reached its desired location the face posed froze as a win and the massive Mileys mouth began to drop and out emerged a tongue like slide. Then the crowd finally sees Miley standing at the top of the slide and she sat and glided gracefully down landing and beginning the chorus of Bangerz. I remember in that moment not even being able to hear my own screaming and cheering it was so amazing. Every act following that lived completely up to my standards from the kiss cam during “adore you” to the giant replica of her dog, Floyd during “Can’t Be Tamed”. But the finale was indeed the big bang. She played her classic hit, “Party in the USA” but instead of its original pop version she spiced it up with some rock n roll. She was wearing a tight red white and blue leotard and short haired blonde wig she looked like the female Uncle Sam. Confetti and fireworks flew everywhere in the Honda center and she rose high in the sky on a pedestal waving and bowing to the crowd while we screamed and cried of the performance of a live time. I will honestly never forget those moments they are practically tattooed into the inside of my skull.

In all seriousness this concert was the best one I have ever been to and I don’t think it can’t be beat, there was completely no complaints out of me about it except for the fact that I wish it lasted forever which it obviously couldn’t because it would I’m sure eventually get boring. To anyone else who attended they would have to admit to anyone asking that Miley Cyrus definitely takes the cake for most entertaining and can’t take your eyes off the performer dancing on your feet all night type concert. Monumental, crazy night and buy “Bangerz” on iTunes.
