Holes
Holes
Louis Sachar
Stanley had found some stolen shoes on the ground. When the cops catch him with them he is forced to either go to jouvinial detention or a camp called Camp Green Lake. Of coarse he chose the camp, seeing that it sounded like fun, but once he arrived it is worse than jouvey. All the campers are forced to dig a hole 5 feet by 5 feet in a dried up lake, which is now like a desert. As the days go by in Camp Green Lake he finds out he isn't just digging to restore character.
Holes is a fantastic adventure novel that will have you anxious to see what lies on the next page. I would recommend this book to anyone who likes a good adventure book. The characters are well described and the landscape descriptions make you fell as if you're right in the middle of the desert.
