Where the Heart Is
In Billie Letts's fiction novel, Where the Heart Is, Letts creates the perfect book that everyone can enjoy and some how relate to a piece of the book or to one of the characters. In this book Letts focuses on the meaning of family and trying to find where your heart truly lies.
In this novel, seventeen year old and seven months pregnant Novalee Nation and her boyfriend, Willy Jack, are going to California to hopefully strike it up rich. On the way there they stop at a Wal-Mart in the small town of Sequoya,Oklahoma where Willy Jack dumps Novalee and heads off to California, leaving Novalee with no money, no clothing and the baby. Fortunately Novalee meets several people who quickly become her friends and help Novalee in any way possible.
If you are interested in the struggle of life then I suggest that you read this excellent book.
