The Hunger Games by Suzanne Collins
The Hunger Games
The story begins on the day of a reaping
The whole district gathers together, those awake and those sleeping.
Two contestants are chosen and silence spreads,
But one girl shouts out, "Not! let me go instead!"
A willing volunteer! Not ever had there been one
Today is the day that the hunger games have begun.
One week of training then two weeks to die,
Peeta and Katniss must kill to survive.
Twenty-two others in the arena together,
Two from each district compete, regardless of the weather.
A fight to the death is how it will end,
No one can trust anyone, not even their best friend...
