After falling in love with a Abenaki Indian Women, Dojihla, a great horned owl named Wabi transforms into a human being. He has several trials and adventure while learning to adapt to his new life.

Bruchac weaves together classic elements of fantasy, legend, and romance in a unique shape shifting adventure full of surprise and excitement. Bruchac puts the characteristics well of both Dojihla and Wabi as an owl and a human.

Joseph Bruchac really helped me relate to the characters and the emotions of Wabi. He makes me feel as if I’m there, watching the life of both characters. I recommend this book to anyone who likes fantasy and legend.
