Artemis Fowl by Eoin Colfer
“If I win I'm a prodigy. If I lose then I'm mad. That's the way history is written.”
When the LEP recon discovers that captain Holly Short, one of their officers are kidnapped they are forced to take immediate action. 12-year old millionaire Artemis Fowl and his trusty Butler are criminal masterminds. He takes Holly as hostage because he wants a ton of 24-karat- gold and he's not releasing her until they give him what he wants. But when Artemis underestimates his opponent destruction happens. These aren't the fake bed-time fairies you read in a book at night. These fairies are dangerous!!! Eoin Colfer takes you in a fantasy world full of action. I recommend this book to people who like fantasy.
My favorite part in the book is when non-listening Captain Cudgeon and his squad send in a troll to destroy Fowl manor while Holly is inside! Will 12-year old Artemis be able to defeat the fairies? Will Holly survive and escape? Read more to find out!
