Metamorphosis by Franz Kafka
Metamorphosis is a book of a family's hardship financially due to their dependence on one family member. Gregor Samsa, the main character, is a very hard worker. He puts his family before himself and does everything he can to take care of them. Gregor was very stressed out due to his work environment and his family at home. Until one morning; he woke up and realized he was not himself. Gregor had turned into a Roach. However, I believe that if Kafka had not had Gregor turn into a roach then his family would not have been so repulsed by his figure to the point where they disowned him as a family member.
