Like all Tolkien books I found this one to be exceptional. It not only shows his skills as a writer but also his skills at creating a book with no loose ends. From magic swords to ghost soldiers this book has all you could hope for in a fantasy book and helps to continue the world described in his books known as middle earth.

The elves have started to travel across the eastern sea claiming their time on middle earth has come to and end while trouble brews in Gondor and Gandalf and Pippin race to meet, while Frodo and Sam, with the help/hindrance of Sméagol continue on their quest to drop the One Ring into the fires of Mount Doom.

Overall the book is one of the best I’ve ever read and continue to read over and over again. Tolkien does a great job of keeping three simultaneous storylines in balance as you continue to read through. With new twists to keep you on your feet with your face glued to the page, including a nice twist ending this is a must read for anyone.
