Phantoms in the Snow by Kathleen Benner Duble
Its 1944 the world is in the middle a war. Fifteen year old Noah Garret becomes an orphan after the disease of smallpox takes the life of his parents. Having no other family Noah is sent to Colorado to live with his uncle. Noah has been raised a non-violent pacifists. When he finds out that where he is being sent is a military base for a division of the army called the Phantoms. He struggles to find a way to survive in a world that involves preparing for war. I very much enjoyed this book on the struggles of finding yourself in a tricky situation. This book has taught me that you need to have an open mind about all situations. Some like in the case of Noah turn out for the best. I highly recommend this book for people that enjoy high action fast paced plots.
