Life of Pi is about a boy who sets of on a voyage and meanwhile his family's boat sinks. He is the only survivor. For a big part of the book he is on a rescue boat with a 350 pound Bengal tiger, a zebra, a hyena, and to wrap it all up an orangutan name Orange Juice. Then the book slows down and never speeds back up. The animals start to fight and the zebra dies and so forth. Pi is stranded on a life boat in the middle of the Pacific Ocean and does not have any food or drinks. Don't forget he has wild animals that also get hungry to. Then Pi finds a supply of fresh water on the life boat. How amazing! It's going to pick up again. Right? Wrong! This book is a very slow read and will not be a good read for a reader who likes fast paced and up tempo types of books. I would strongly recommend this book to a type of reader who likes slow developing stories and someone who is interested in survival books. Overall I give this book a 6 out of 10.
