Lucky Linderman lives a life filled with anything but luck. He is bullied mercilessly by a kid who is never be held accountable, has parents who just don't understand him, and it feels as if the world is crashing in on him and he doesn't really know what to do. His only escape is the dreams he has of rescuing his grandfather, a POW of the Vietnam War, and he can never seem to even accomplish that.

But a sudden injury and a pick-it-up-and-go vacation opportunity force Lucky to reexamine his life and take a stand against injustice. With an eclectic cast of characters to help him in his journey, Lucky learns about love, compassion, and the importance of rescuing oneself.

Nobody is without sorrow.

Because everybody sees the ants.
