"My Cousin Vinny" is a funny movie. There are no environmental messages or political views; it is a movie made purely to make you laugh. The movie begins when two college-bound boys, Bill (Ralph Macchio) and Stan (Mitchell Whitfield), are falsely accused of murdering a convenience store clerk in a small Alabama town. All hope seems lost for these boys who have no money or lawyer until Bill's cousin Vinny, from New York (Joe Pesci), shows up.

Vinny seems to be the perfect lawyer until they find out it took him six attempts to pass the law bar and he has never actually tried a case. The trial doesn't begin well, with Vinny ending up in jail three times for contempt. The boys have their doubts, but stick with Vinny, which turns out to be the right choice because with his fianc" (Marisa Tomei), Vinny disproves the opposing side's arguments and keeps the boys from electrocution.

Even though Vinny sticks out like a sore thumb in his dress and manner, he is soon accepted by the small town and even the Southern judge (Fred Gwynne) who despises him at first. This movie is wonderfully acted by an extremely talented cast. The great script provides non-stop laughter and enjoyment. I would recommend this film to anyone who needs a good laugh. n
